Get to know a little bit about Flamingo Amy

I faffed about for ages deciding what to write in this part on the website. It's more difficult than you think to write about yourself! So here's a little
about myself and the making of Flamingo Amy.

I'm a native of Southend-on-Sea, Essex, and moved up to Norwich to complete a degree in Fine Art in 2003. In 2006 I graduated from the Norwich School of Art and design and decided to stay here in Norwich - I recommend that you visit this fine city!

For some time now I have loved the styles and fashions of the 1940's and 50's. This all began after going to a rock'n'roll weekender in 2004 (I met my fiancé there!). I have always enjoyed making things and wanted to give self-employment a go so I started Flamingo Amy in early 2008 making hair accessories.

I am also now working as a vintage hair stylist at Nina's Hair Parlour, Marylebone, London and Flint Hair, Norwich. I absolutley love working there, I cannot think of anything else I'd rather be doing on a Saturday!
